Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb stated on Tuesday that non-tax filers will face restrictions on purchasing property, vehicles, and opening bank accounts. During an interview with a private television channel, he emphasized that the government is taking serious steps to expand the tax network in the country, leading to the imposition of certain restrictions on non-filers.
He outlined plans to ensure that the wholesale sector, distributors, retailers, and the real estate market are properly integrated into the tax net. Aurangzeb also mentioned a phased reduction of subsidies on wheat and sugarcane.
In response to inquiries about tax uniformity, he confirmed that the government aims to implement consistent tax policies across all provinces. New financial agreements will be signed to strengthen the tax system nationwide.
